Jimmy Page has issued the official video for an unreleased version of “Whole Lotta Love” that will appear on the expanded reissue of 1969's "Led Zeppelin II."
The best thing about this mix? John "Bonzo" Bonham's drums really jump out! You can hear the power of his playing much better than the original version.
On the other hand, Page recently told the BBC, "You realize just how important all of those additional layers and the filigree work is. There's all manner of bells and whistles to make it the song Whole Lotta Love as we all know it."
Sure, Jimmy. But damn those drums sound awesome without all those bells and whistles…
Due June 3, the band is also releasing reissues of "Led Zeppelin I" and "Led Zeppelin III" the same day. They will be followed by the reissue the rest of Zeppelin's studio albums in chronological order.
