Aerosmith Cancels Ukraine Show Due to Civil War

Aerosmith has canceled next Wednesday's show in Kiev due to all of the fighting in the Ukraine.

The show's promoter issued a statement saying that "it is impossible to produce this show in Ukraine while there is civil war. We can't ensure safety to the artists, crew and the audience. We can't ensure safety of the equipment. We're facing many economic and technical difficulties and in a state of civil war those difficulties are impossible to resolve…We all did our best to present the show in Kiev but we have no option but to cancel. We hope that Aerosmith will be able to perform in Ukraine at some time in the future when there is peace and more stability."

This is the second show Aerosmith has cancelled on its current European tour. They called off the May 14 concert in Soma, Turkey, after a mining disaster led to a national day of mourning. Guitarist Joe Perry commented, "More than 300 miners died, so it was declared a national day of mourning, so naturally our gig was, it was canceled out of respect and there just wasn't any way to replace it in the tour. So we had to cancel the first show and that was really a bummer 'cause…Well, first of all it was a drag that the accident happened, but also we were really excited to play a place as exotic as Istanbul…it was a really cool place and it was just sad that the country was going through that at the time."

Aerosmith and Slash – barring any civil war here – will play the FMBA on July 25th.  We've got free seats for Loyal Loopers.
