Eric Clapton crashes pub’s open mic night

Imagine having a brew and listening to amateurs on open mic night when Eric Clapton steps up to play.  That's what happened last month at Macgochans in Tobermory, Scotland.

Neil Morrison, who runs the popular bar, told Scottish Express: “We were having an open mic session, and there were some instruments there. He just picked up a guitar and started playing.”

Clapton had sat quietly, but after hearing a cover of his hit Wonderful Tonight he took to the stage and played three songs.

Morrison said, “He must have thought he’d show us how it was done, but a lot of people didn’t realise it was him until later.”

This isn't the first time a rock star has shown up at Macgochans.  Robert Plant showed up for a mug earlier this year.
