After his speech at the Smithsonian last Thursday, Eddie Van Halen was aked by Rolling Stone when Van Halen expects to make a new record. Given his response, it's not likely we'll get some new tunes any time soon.
'I’d love to make a studio record,' he says. 'Depends on everybody’s timing. I don’t know what Dave [Lee Roth] is up to now. I don’t know if he’s living in New York or Japan or wherever he is.'
Roth has been posting YouTube videos of his travels around the world under the title, The Roth Show. But as of today, it looks like Dave has deleted them all. He did show up at Dave Grohl's birthday sporrting a shaved head. So for all we know, DLR is chanting on some Tibetan mountaintop.
Eddie did reveal that Wolfgang Van Halen has been working on a solo album, which could possibly be out by the end of the year. 'Wait until you hear his record,' Eddie gushed. 'This is not [his] pop talking, this is real talk, it blew my mind.'
