Aerosmith rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford got   people talking last week when he suggested   the band is considering finding a replacement for Steven Tyler, at least temporarily, and tour while Tyler hits the road in support of his upcoming solo country release, saying to MetalRules.com, “Absolutely, we have considered it – but whether it will happen I don’t know. I think it would be great.”

The band took to Twitter today with this statement in an effort to calm fans.  “There’s absolutely no truth to a story circulating that Aerosmith is looking for a new singer.  Any rumour out there out there about us looking for another singer is completely untrue. All five of us were just on the phone together talking about how excited we are to go to South America and Mexico City.

In the meantime, Tyler brings his solo act to the Chicago Theater August 13th.  Listen to The Loop for ways to win your tickets.
