The AC/DC singer, who was forced to leave the band’s tour in March or risk going deaf, met last month with Stephen Ambrose, who invented in-ear monitors. Ambrose says his invention safely delivers louder and better sound while minimizing the risk of hearing damage.
Apparently the meeting was a success, as Johnson says, “It WORKS. It just totally works and you can’t argue with that. I was really moved and amazed to be able to hear music again like I haven’t heard for several years now. I can’t wait for it to be miniaturized so I can use it in every situation from normal communication, going out to noisy restaurants, to performing live music on stage.”
And for his troubles of traveling to Florida to meet with Johnson, Ambrose got a ride in one of Johnson’s sports cars.
