Led Zeppelin reportedly turned down Desert Trip

If entertainment writer Roger Friedman is to be believed, then the promoters of the two-weekend Desert Trip festival in October also reached out to Led Zeppelin, who, no surprise, declined.

In his Showbiz 411 column, Friedman writes, “They turned down $14 million to play the ‘Oldchella’ Desert Trip shows this fall with Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, The Who, Roger Waters and Bob Dylan… My sources say that Jimmy Page was all for it, but Robert Plant wouldn’t agree to any kind of reunion. ‘Jimmy went crazy,’ one source told me. ‘He really wanted to do it.'”

Zeppelin’s last show was the 2007 reunion gig in London.

Like The Rolling Stones and Roger Waters, The Who will also do a show around the Desert Trip weekends. They just announced October 6th at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
