New Stones Album To Feature Eric Clapton

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has made it official in an interview with the BBC-Eric Clapton will guest on the upcoming Rolling Stones album.  Expect a bluesy effort in that it will include songs by Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter.

While declining to give a track listing, saying he “can’t quite remember them”, Richards gives a nod to our city saying the album will feature “a lot of Chicago blues.”

As far as working with Clapton?  He “dropped by for a couple of numbers” while the album was being recorded.  It was great fun to record…it was like old times down in Richmond.”  Richards is referring to Richmond, Surrey, England where Clapton’s band The Yardbirds would perform, as did the Stones.

This will be The Rolling Stones first studio release since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005.  Richards is hinting at a fall release, followed by a series of concerts in Europe.  The Rolling Stones last area appearance was at Milwaukee’s Summerfest in June 2015.
