Michael Hutchence Documentary On The Way

He was the superstar frontman of a band that got its start during the early ’80’s new wave movement with the “Shaboo Shabah” album in the embryonic MTV days with songs like “The One Thing” and “Don’t Change”.  By the mid 1980’s, Michael Hutchence and INXS would rule multiple charts from pop to rock.  And over Thanksgiving weekend 1997, came the awful word that Hutchence was dead in a Sydney hotel room.  While ruled a suicide, the common theory is that he succumbed during an exercise in auto-erotic asphyxiation.

The band would continue with a new singer, and participate in a reality show on CBS TV, “Rock Star” in search of a new vocalist.  The show was hosted by television personality and commercial spokeswoman Brooke Burke and Jane’s Addiction & Red Hot Chili Peppers lead guitarist Dave Navarro. In season one Australian band INXS chose J.D. Fortune as their new lead singer.

INXS called it a day in 2012.

An Australian docu-series called “Never Tear Us Apart” about the band aired in the US on the Showtime network, and now come word on a difinitive Hutchence documentary.
