Temple of the Dog Talks Tour

Born out of the grief of losing their friend Andrew Wood of seminal Seattle grunge band Mother Love Bone to a drug overdose, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell teamed with Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, Jeff Ament on bass guitar (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), Mike McCready on lead guitar, and Matt Cameron on drums.  Eddie Vedder provided some lead and backing vocals on a ten song collection that was released in 1991.  The album wouldn’t garner massive attention until 1992 with the breakthrough of Pearl Jam.

Now, on the 25th anniversary of the self-titled album, we’ll be seeing a box set and a five city reunion tour that begins November 4th.  Unfortunately, Chicago is not one of the five cities, but demand is high as the series of concerts were an instant sell-out.

So there are questions.  With just ten songs, what will they play? (They don’t know yet).  Will Eddie Vedder participate? (They don’t know that either).  Will there be more shows? (Maybe).

Bassist Jeff Ament talked to Rolling Stone about the undertaking and you can read more HERE.
