From the look of things, don’t expect a warm and fuzzy final Black Sabbath reunion with drummer Bill Ward. While Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are in the closing stages of “The End” tour before retiring the band, there has been somewhat of a war of words between the band and Ward.
When it was announced the band was reuniting, Osbourne indicated that Ward was not in playing condition. Then, as recently as a few weeks ago, Osbourne said he had reached out to Ward in an effort to have him appear at the Black Sabbath’s final concert in their hometown of Birmingham, England, in February. Ward says he hasn’t heard from Osbourne and wouldn’t participate anyway, owing to the fact that he was offered what he felt was a poor contract.
As we get set for Black Sabbath’s final Chicagoland concert tonight at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park, you can read about the ugly back and forth HERE.
