Axl Rose may have enough money to offer Izzy Stradlin big bucks to rejoin Guns N’ Roses, but apparently he’s a little short when it comes to paying out some cash he owed to another former G N’ R member.
Chris Pitman is suing Axl. The keyboardist was a member of the group from 1998 until this year when Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined. According to TMZ, the lawsuit doesn’t have to do with his work in the band, but with over a year’s sound engineering he did for Axl around 2011. (In fact, TMZ fails to identify Pitman as an ex-member of G N’ R.) The court documents say Axl gave Pitman a promissory note for $125,000 at the time, then stiffed him and stopped responding to his requests to be paid.
With reports that the G N’ R tour has grossed more than $100-million, Pitman must have figured Axl can afford to pay him now. He claims that with interest added, Axl now owes him $163,000.
