Green Day To Miss Hockey World Cup Show

The illness that postponed Green Day’s scheduled performance in Chicago Wednesday has forced a cancellation of their concert at the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto on Friday.  Organizers have booked rock A-lister Lenny Kravitz to replace him at the Canadian event.

As far as what has sidelined Green Day and forced them to move back concerts in St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit, details are few.  In a statement, the band indicates an infection has swept through the band and its crew.  “We’re so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto. Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us.”

When we have details on when the rescheduled date in Chicago will occur, we’ll let you know.  The band releases their next studio album “Revolution Radio” on October 8th.
