Sir Paul McCartney is a headliner at the Desert Trip classic rock marathon that spans two weekends, and the ex-Beatles bassist must have had some time to kill between performances because it was revealed midday on Thursday that he’d be playing a 300 person capacity bar that night in the middle of the desert.
Tickets were sold cash only at the door, and the crowd was made up of mostly Joshua Tree, CA, residents who where dumbfounded that Macca was rolling into town. McCartney took to the stage proclaiming “This is the biggest gig we’ve ever played” and then delivered a set that by all accounts was unforgettable.
