As we prepare to see the new Roger Waters concert “Us and Them” at United Center next July 22nd and 23rd, Pink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason says he’d like to see a reunion of the surviving members, who last shared a staged in July of 2005 as a part of the Live 8 concerts. And similar to the band performing for charity 11 years ago, Mason says the impetus for a Pink Floyd reunion should again be for altruistic reasons.
However, it seems Waters harbors some bitterness in regards to Pink Floyd, particularly guitarist David Gilmour. He recently appeared on comic Marc Maron’s podcast and said, “It was a very toxic environment, when I was around some people – David and Rick mainly – who were always trying to drag me down and trying to knock me off whatever that perch was. They were very snotty and snipey because they felt very insignificant I think.”
