When Black Sabbath performs their last concert in Birmingham, England, on February 4th, don’t expect singer Ozzy Osbourne to go quietly into the night. We’ve learned that he is at work on a new solo album. And as a performer who is famous for recruiting great guitarists, he has paired up with one of the greats for this new effort-Billy Idol axeman Steve Stevens, who won’t be a part of Osbourne’s band, but also associate with the release is Idol’s other guitarist Billy Morrison.
From Blabbermouth, Ozzy says, “”I’m not retiring, I’m gonna carry on. I’ve been writing with Billy Morrison and Steve Stevens. Steve is not gonna be in my band, he’s with Billy Idol. But he’s a friend of Morrison’s and Morrison plays with Billy Idol.”
As for when new solo material is coming, Ozzy is focused on the remaining Black Sabbath concerts before turning his full attention to reestablishing his solo career. One of the new compositions is a song Osbourne describes as “bluesy” called “Crack Cocaine”.
