While the band played a private benefit show in L.A. last month, and will perform before the Grammys to honor Tom Petty as the MusiCares person of the year, the band is unveiling summer 2017 tour dates in an unusual fashion.  By stamping a digital passport with dates and shows that seem to be growing by the day.  Why the passport?  So far all announced concerts are in Europe.

You can check out this very cool page at foofighterspassport.com.

Announced concerts so far are in Gdansk, Poland, Madrid, Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal.

The band has essentially taken 2016 off, however, producer Butch Vig has said in an interview that he’s been working Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.  And there is speculation the a second season of the band’s “Sonic Highways” could be taped as their 2014 HBO series and album was, on location in different cities from which they’d draw inspiration from each town’s musical heritage.  Perhaps this time in Europe?

Stay with The Loop for the latest Foos news.

And here’s the trailer for the “Sonic Highways” episode produced in Chicago.
