Take heart if you’re hoping to hear a new U2 album in 2017.
Bassist Adam Clayton tells Rolling Stone that the band feels that Songs of Experience needs to come out by “the end of this year.” He says that it’s “pretty much in the bag” as far as recording goes and that the band didn’t “switch to do[ing] these Joshua Tree shows” because it will take a lot of time to finish. He says all that’s needed to complete it is “little nips and tucks” it can “work on throughout this year.”
Clayton feels that doing the Joshua Tree concerts this summer could actually “have some impact on what that record ultimately becomes when we finish work on it.”
