Frances Bean Cobain has filed court documents attempting to recover the guitar her father, Kurt Cobain, played on Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged. Her estranged husband has it and doesn’t want to give it back.
Cobain filed for divorce from Isaiah Silva last March. According to TMZ, she wants a court to order him to turn the guitar over so she can inspect it and then give it to an art shipping company for safekeeping until the case is settled. Silva claims that Frances gave him the guitar as a gift during their marriage; she argues she would never have given him such a “priceless family heirloom.”
The judge in the case hasn’t ruled on her request as of yet.
