It appears that the legal wrangling over the ownership of the name Ratt finally came to an end on Friday.
That day, a judge denied original drummer Bobby Blotzer’s request to reconsider a November ruling that went against Blotzer. In explaining the denial, the judge stated that the members of Ratt’s original partnership agreement and not a later entity, that only included Blotzer and guitarist Warren DeMartini, own the name.
DeMartini is now aligned with the band’s remaining two living members, singer Stephen Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier, against Blotzer. The three are planning to record and an album and are set to begin touring as Ratt without Blotzer on Saturday at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnesota. Former Quiet Riot guitarist Carlos Cavazo is also in the band, though they haven’t yet announced who their drummer is. (Blabbermouth.net)
