That tequila partnership between Sammy Hagar and Adam Levine we told you about last summer is officially launching this weekend.
Santo Mezquila blends 100 percent blue agave, which we know as tequila, and Espadin Agave, which is used to produce mezcal. Hagar and Levine hatched the idea one night while hanging out in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they both own homes. Santo Mezquila will arrive in Las Vegas, California, New York, Texas and Florida over the next month and later expand to other markets.
Hagar’s re-entry into the tequila market comes six years after he sold his remaining 20 percent interest in Cabo Wabo Tequila to Gruppo Campari. His total take from that sale was $91 million.
