Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs celebrated his 72nd birthday on Friday, but it’s not how he wanted to spend it.
He’s now living in a nursing home following his stroke last October, and a post on his Facebook page says he’s “finding the physical therapy very tough, but is trying his very best. He sends his love to all, and thanks each and every one of you that sent birthday wishes.”
The post adds that he’s still dialed in, though. “He loves to hear how things are going in the music world, and news of Bad Company and [his Mott the Hoople bandmate] Ian Hunter are very welcome, and brings a smile to his face. He’s determined to get back on his feet again, which is very hard for the visitors to take, but we all stay very positive, and supportive.”
