Smashing Pumpkins mastermind Billy Corgan’s cleaning out his attic; he’s selling a bunch of his gear on music gear website Reverb.
His “shop” won’t go live next month, but Reverb’s offered a preview of a few key items:
- Corgan’s #2 Stratocaster. Used on ‘Today’ and ‘Cherub Rock.’
- A 1969 Gibson EB–3 Bass in Walnut “dubbed the Mountain Bass used as a ‘secret weapon’ on everything from Mellon Collie to Machina”
- The rackmount preamps used to record ‘Gish.’
As the Reverb site says, “so many of these items could just as easily be put in a museum as in the hands of a fan.”
