If you walked out of “It” craving more not-of-this-earth clowns, I’d like to recommend one of my all-time favorite B-movies: “Killer Klowns from Outer Space.”
I remember seeing it for the first time at the 3-Penny (where Lincoln Hall now sits) in 1988. The titular clowns did diabolical things with shadow puppets, cotton candy and balloon animals. It was stupid from the moment the opening credits rolled, and it’s managed to stay with me for close to 30 years.
I also still have love for the theme song, done by O.G. pop-punkers the Dickies (video below).
And yeah, “Killer Klowns” is far from high art, but it’s a totally great cult flick. Check out some clips below.
