Nuclear war movies scared the crap out me as a kid in the 80s. “Testament” told the story of a small town’s utter breakdown after a nuclear war. “The Day After” had some of the most horrifying imagery I’d seen up until that point. And then there was “Threads.” The British made-for-TV flick managed to be the most terrifying of that era.

Now that nuclear conflict is something we seem to be talking about again these days, “Threads” is getting a proper rerelease. The fully-restored movie will be available on Blu-ray next month.
