Dating site eHarmony came up with the name; after surveying 4000 adults they learned that 11% of singles had been Marleyed and 8% had committed acts of Marleying.
Why do people Marley at this time of year? Location and loneliness. A lot of people return home over the holidays and location makes it easy to reconnect with past flames. And yeah, loneliness is a big driver, too.
