Apple’s been catching a ton of crap lately for purposely slowing down its older-model iPhones to extend battery life. Customers quickly assumed the purpose to get people to upgrade to newer, super-pricey devices, which Apple says wasn’t the case. In fact, they wrote a lot about it in this apology message. To make amends, Apple’s dropped the price of replacement batteries for iPhone 6 and later to $29, starting in a few weeks. Of course, if you’re still walking around with your old school iPhone 4, this won’t help one bit.
Now about that Apple store downtown (just a block away from the Loop studio)… was the idea there to build a roof that wouldn’t last so that they would be forced to upgrade to a newer, cooler building?
