It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood… Tom Hanks will play Mr. Rogers in an upcoming biopic. Variety says “You Are My Friend” takes its cue from the real-life friendship between Mr. Rogers and journalist Tom Junod.

Director Marielle Heller says the story “truly feels to me like an antidote to our very fractured culture.”
