Are we alone in the universe? Scientists have been leaning toward “nope” for a while. Just this week, they say Ross 128 b, an exoplanet 11 light years away, could support life. Ross is a new discovery, said to be roughly the same size as earth. Beyond size, CNN reports it “may have a similar surface temperature, making it a temperate world that could support life.”
It may take a while to learn more, though. The technology to identify “biomarkers” in Ross’s atmosphere won’t be ready for another eight years.
