Have you been ‘Marleyed’ by an ex?

Ah, the holiday season. It brings out the best in some… and the creepy in others.

“Marleying” is a trend that rears its head this time of year. That’s when the ghosts of former relationships return to haunt you, Charles Dickens-style. Dating site eHarmony came up with the name; after surveying 4000 adults they learned that 11% of singles had been Marleyed and 8% had committed acts of Marleying.

Why do people Marley at this time of year? Location and loneliness. A lot of people return home over the holidays and location makes it easy to reconnect with past flames. And yeah, loneliness is a big driver, too.
