The Jimi Hendrix archive of unreleased material never seems to run dry as another release is set for next month.
Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show 12/31/69 fully documents the debut performance of Jimi and his Band of Gypsys at the short-lived but legendary New York City venue run by the late promoter Bill Graham. Hendrix played four shows there on New Year’s Eve 1969 and New Year’s Day 1970. This recording is from the first of the four shows.
It will be available on September 30th in numerous configurations. So will be the reissue of People, Hell and Angels, a collection of previously unreleased studio recordings.
