Fans remember when and where they were when they first heard the lead-off single from the album that would launch Metallica into the mainstream, 1991’s “Black Album”. “Enter Sandman” got the band MTV play and even slid into the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. The album arrived on August 12th, 1991, and would become the biggest selling album of the Soundscan music sales measurement system era.
