Brian May is back home trying to relax after some time off to deal with a couple of medical issues. But apparently it’s not working, as he says he’s once again faced with “the insanity that is London.”
He writes on his website, “Was woken up by a horrible noise of leaf blowers… There used to be ONE man, Billy, who swept up the leaves in our road… No noise, no fuss, always a smile and a hello, and the road was spotless after he’d been down it… Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council sacked him for reasons unknown. He appealed for wrongful dismissal but he was one man against a bureaucratic team of bullies and he didn’t stand a chance… Today we have six men and a truck… Leaves everywhere, nicely compressed [and] ready for people to slip over on and break their necks.”
And he knows just where to place the blame. “Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council members … you are idiots. The whole lot of you ought to be sacked and we should start again. This in addition to the granting of endless basement building projects to people who are doing it solely for profit, at the expense of the quality of life of Kensington residents.”
