It looks like Metallica fans have welcomed the band back with open arms.
Billboard reports that their first album in eight years, Hardwired…to Self Destruct, will likely be their sixth chart-topper. The album is on track to sell 280,000 copies, with streams taking it up to 300,000 equivalent album units. The band’s last album, 2008’s Death Magnetic, opened with sales of 490,000 copies in its first week.
The final figures will be released on Sunday.
