“Saturday Night Live” picked up 22 Emmy nominations today, tying with HBO’s “Westword.” That makes SNL the most-nominated show ever, receiving 231 nominations since the show first aired in 1975.
Other nominations of note include “The Handmaid’s Tale” (13 total) and “Veep” (17 total).
The Emmys will air on September 17.
