27 years ago, the blues-rock marvel died in East Troy, Wisconsin in a helicopter crash bound for Chicago. Vaughan played his final show the night before at Alpine Valley along with his band Double Trouble, brother Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Cray, Eric Clapton, and Buddy Guy.
